Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum – Uniondale, New York
Tonight i’m shooting the American Idol Live Tour 2013. It’s been just about a calendar year since I started working at Getty Images and last year this tour was my first assignment for Getty.

I arrived at the venue around 6:45 for a 7:30 show start. The media alert states that photographers can shoot the first 2 songs, but when I arrive I find out its actually only ONE SONG. The photographers are escorted to a conference room downstairs at the coliseum where I wait along with Gary Gershoff and Steven Henry

Finally it’s showtime and we’re escorted to the photo pit through the inner bowels of the venue
We make our way to the stage through the inside of the coliseum

Its really kinda empty in the venue… Seems like the bad ratings for the latest season of the show has carried over to the tour. We pick our spots in the pit and get ready for the lights to go down… One song and we’re out. Really wish we had more. This is the first time i’ve ever only been able to shoot ONE SONG.
